In October Milan becomes the world pastry capital and around 40 nations, from 5 continents will compete for the trophy. For the first time ever, Bulgaria will be among those nations and our team will put Bulgaria on the culinary map.
Each national team will be made of 3 competitors, selected through local selections that were held in each country. The teams will each have their own coach, which will have the role of a captain and a coach. All the coaches will make up the jury that will evaluate all the creations of the pastry chefs and will proclaim the winning nation.
The Bulgarian team will be represented by George Boykovski, Alexander Tsekoff and Antoniya Koleva-Vasileva, Nadezhda Maneva and their coach Evgeni Filchev, helped by some of the best Bulgarian pastry chefs and chocolatiers.
The competition is organized by the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate. 160 pastry chefs are going to compete and they will have to prepare chocolate sculpture and pralines, sugar sculpture and modern cake, gum paste/ pastillage and ice cream portion. Each sculpture will be an edible art work.
The championship will take place in Host Milan, the International Exhibition of Professional Hospitality, that will be held at Fiera Milan from 20th to 24th of October.
